Nine Tastemakers Recommend the Season’s Most Wished For
Gucci Westman
Make-up artist, founder of Westman Atelier and Italian pyjama enthusiast
Our Westman Atelier x Nancy Pearce Pinch Pots trio set is the most perfect gift for the holidays. I would be over the moon if I received them! They are solid bronze, handmade in Los Angeles and so versatile – use them to hold jewellery on your nightstand or as a simple decorative object for your home.
These cashmere socks are a little luxury to brighten your day. Linnea Lund only uses the finest, sustainably sourced cashmere and everything is handmade at a family-run workshop in Italy. Plus they’re machine-washable and only get better with wear. I am a big fan of cashmere – it feels like a hug!
Charles March
The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, philanthropist, artist, founder of Goodwood Events and wearer of buffalo horn sunglasses
A silk scarf or tie from E. Marinella is the ultimate in understated luxury. Made in Naples and now available in Burlington Arcade, London, they simply produce the finest ties in the world. Their archive of vintage patterns is a treasure trove, which we regularly use to help us celebrate various special anniversaries at Goodwood Revival.
The Lamy Safari Vista fountain pen is the result of constant design refinement – fountain pen perfection. Simple, beautiful and affordable, it’s a luxury I can’t live without. I love the clear Perspex version, paired with their blood-red ink. I madly write everything down, so I go through a cartridge a day - proof that beauty can be practical.
E.B. Meyrowitz makes the most beautiful sunglasses in the world. A bespoke pair in natural buffalo horn is a fabulous luxury. I worry more about losing mine than almost anything else I own, and I check my glasses drawer with the devotion of a man guarding the crown jewels.
I Fear For This Boy, £15, and The Glory Years, £23, both by Theo Fennell
Theo Fennell is one of the most naturally funny and charming people alive, and these two autobiographical books are comic masterpieces. They will have you laughing from the bottom of your stomach and will turn even the most stressful Christmas into a comedy.
Liza Laserow Berglund
Co-founder and chief creative director of Nordic Knots, who serves tea from antique teapots
We designed the throw we'd always wanted ourselves – extra large, impossibly soft and woven in a blend of wool and cashmere. It's generous enough to layer across a king-size bed or gather everyone under during the holidays. It's the kind of piece that feels both indulgent and essential for winter.
I will always be inspired by my mother, who still serves her guests coffee in polished silver at dinner parties. I love this ritual – and I'd like to keep the tradition going by gifting a beautiful silver teapot. It makes everyday coffee feel like an occasion.
Rosemary Ferguson
Wellness expert, founder of the R Health Club and Smythson note-taker
I love these Bon Charge devices. The infrared mat is great to work out on or simply lie on and relax, and the lamp (pictured) is perfect to have beside you, even in your office. It really depends on what you're looking for, but either one is a brilliant way to support your system through the busy days we all lead.
Super Max Red Light Therapy Device, £1,299, and Infrared PEMF Mat Max, £999, both by Bon Charge
Kesewa Aboah
Artist and lover of thoughtful discussions
Since moving into my home, I want less stuff and more one-off, unique pieces. These feel like they would dress up any and every dinner table and make it a special occasion. Each one handmade, you're investing in something you'll have forever. Request a catalogue to order direct.
Jonny Gent
Founder of Sessions Arts Club and Cabin Studio, and Takibi Firepit Chef
A sculptural pin crafted from polished sterling silver and hand cut lapis lazuli. I made this in collaboration with Completed Works during the Frieze art fair. The idea was something small, wearable and not too designed. Works simply on a T-shirt and sits great on a fishing gilet.
Oona Finch
Drama Student and Keen Sunglasses-Wearer
Vintage sunglasses are my favourite thing on the planet. My friend said to me that I had to up my sunglasses game, and since then I’ve just loved going through vintage ones. Looking at sunglasses is also the best thing to do with a friend. I like really narrow and thin ones. Sometimes even cat-eye frames, or huge styles. No outfit is complete without sunglasses.
To me, [Sofia Coppola’s] book is basically everything beautiful and feminine and pink. I just love her eye. Her creative vision is one that inspires me every day. I think discovering her films as a young girl, especially as a teen, is really important. To also have her book and look through the pictures, behind the scenes, and to see what her creative process is like, is really cool.

The concept of this shoe, designed for Connolly’s owner, Isabel Ettedgui, came following requests from racing drivers looking for sensibility, comfort and flexibility. It fits like a glove for the foot, achieved through an exacting last, a British racing green rubber sole and hand stitching from a steering wheel.
I got obsessed with this game while holidaying at our place in summer house. It’s competitive, sharp and fun! Plus, playing with a Giobagnara set is a real luxury; the quality of the walnut and chips and the Italian leather-covered stands make the experience top of the game.
This would be my ideal present for my husband, if only I could find one that wasn’t a silly price. The first time I saw it was 15 years ago while staying at Il San Pietro di Positano. At the beach restaurant, a British gentleman in his early 80s wore it on his wrist. It took me a few days to ask him and I discovered it was an Andrew Grima watch, and that he and his exquisite wife were Grima’s best friends.

Tapestry by Graeme Black, POA
Tapestry by Graeme Black, POA
Graeme presented this new tapestry work in October at Thorns Gallery in Yorkshire and then in London. The colours, the texture, the proportions are beautiful, elegant, modern and warm. His work is a study of tree trunks found around his home in Yorkshire. He started in charcoal, then oil and now wool.
A stay at the Lanserhof medical spa, Tegernsee or Sylt, Germany, POA
I love going to the Lanserhof. It’s my time to unwind, recharge and take care of myself. I like to spend time in nature, swim in the lake (if I’m at Tegernsee), and focus on balance rather than restriction. A week of treatments at Lanserhof truly feels like the ultimate luxury. The Tegernsee location is just an hour outside Munich, making it wonderfully easy to reach, but if I can slip away from work a bit longer, I’ll go to Sylt – the island is pure magic.
When my friend Chloë Sevigny gifted me her perfume Little Flower, I was a bit sceptical – I’ve never been much of a perfume person. I usually avoid strong fragrances and rarely wear perfume at all. But Little Flower was the loveliest surprise. I fell in love instantly – it’s elegant, soft and has a subtle, ladylike touch with notes of Ottoman rose and palo santo. It’s the only perfume I wear now.
Clarice Lispector was a Brazilian novelist and short-story writer, known for her innovative use of stream-of-consciousness narration. The Hour of the Star is a brief yet profound story about a woman who feels invisible – someone who neither sees herself, nor is seen by others, as part of history or the future. It highlights the struggle for self-awareness and independence in a world that denies women both visibility and agency.
Necklace in 18k Fairmined textured gold set with white diamonds and rock crystal by Ana Khouri, POA
Necklace in 18k Fairmined textured gold set with white diamonds and rock crystal by Ana Khouri, POA
When I decided to create my own textures while working with gold, I felt an incredible sense of freedom. I develop each texture separately and then incorporate it into the metal on each piece. Since most of my work consists of one-off pieces, I have the liberty to craft unique compositions using the rarest and most precious materials. For example, we began this necklace by moulding the design to the body, perfecting its function, and only then moved on to working with the chosen materials. I love shaping and moulding the rock crystal, then combining it with gold and white diamonds.
